Quick and Easy Beef Sesame Ginger Stir Fry
This insanely delicious beef and green bean stir fry is loaded with a hefty amount of ginger and a kiss of sesame for a quick and easy weeknight meal!

his is the kind of recipe that’s perfect for when you’re just desperate to get food on the table. (Either kitchen, dining room, or coffee table.) It makes the whole place smell amazing, you feel slightly virtuous because of the copious amount of ginger, and the green beans are the perfect “crisp tender” bite. (Because, green beans should always have some body, and never be limp and sad!)
Ingredients
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 tablespoons cold water
1/4 cup vegetable, canola, or grapeseed oil, divided
1 1/2 tablespoons freshly grated ginger
1 1/2 tablespoons tamari or soy sauce
1 1/2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
1 1/2 teaspoons sesame oil
1 teaspoon mirin
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 lb. beef top sirloin steak, cut into ½-inch cubes
2 large handfuls thin, fresh green beans, trimmed
Method
Whisk together cornstarch and cold water in a small bowl. Reserve.
In a separate bowl, whisk together 2 tablespoons of the oil, ginger, tamari, low-sodium soy sauce, sesame oil, mirin, and red pepper flakes. Reserve.
Heat remaining oil in a large frying pan or wok over medium high heat until it shimmers.
Working in batches add beef to the pan, and sear for 2-3minutes, stirring occasionally until no longer pink.
Remove beef from the pan, and reserve on a plate.
Add the soy sauce mixture and the beans to the pan.
Reduce heat to medium, and cook until beans are bright green and crisp tender, approximately 3-4 minutes.
Add the beef back to the pan, and stir in the cornstarch slurry.
Stir until mixture is thickened, about 3-4 minutes.
Serve on cooked rice, or noodles.
